Amanda is the Deputy Director - Policy in the Strategic Policy and Analysis Division of Natural Resources Canada’s Office of Energy Efficiency (OEE). In this role, Amanda leads a team responsible for the design and implementation of current and future energy efficiency and green buildings initiatives and policies. Since starting in this role in September 2022, Amanda has participated in a range of OEE initiatives, including the Canada Green Buildings Strategy, the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program and the Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program – seeking to advance collaborative progress rooted in strong relationships, flexible approaches and practical solutions.
Joining the federal government in 2008, Amanda has previously occupied both policy and program-focused roles, including as the Director of the Softwood Lumber Division, the Co-Director of the Clean Growth Hub, and as part of NRCan’s Clean Technology Task Team and the Pulp and Paper Green Transformation Program.
Originally from the small town of Vilna in northern Alberta, Amanda now lives with her family in Ottawa, Ontario. She holds a MSc. in Natural Resource Economics from the University of Alberta.
