Examines how to meaningfully integrate technology into teaching while keeping learning inquiry-based, inclusive, and grounded in real-world relevance. Participants will experience an interactive simulation of the Plant Diversity and Rescue in SEEC! classroom project, where students assess the biodiversity and health of indoor plants using their surroundings as the living lab. Attendees will gather data, use the free PlantNet app to try AI-based plant identification, and collaborate to analyze findings and propose biodiversity interventions. The session will model inclusive teaching strategies that allow students to step into meaningful roles as scientists, question the limits of AI, and build ecological awareness. Participants will leave with: A complete, adaptable lesson plan, Strategies for integrating tech with place-based, collaborative learning, Tools for fostering critical conversations about AI, bias, and equity in science education.
