Ann Alexander is a policy consultant with Devonshire Strategies. Her work focuses on assisting communities with the ongoing transition away from an oil and gas economy, for clients including environmental policy NGOs, community organizations, labor advocates, and municipal government. Through both policy analysis and legislative advocacy, she helps clients develop approaches to navigate the multiple environmental, land use, labor, and economic issues that attend the ongoing wind-down of oil extraction and refining. She previously worked for 17 years as a Senior Attorney with the Natural Resources Defense Council focused on oil and gas-related regulatory issues as well as place-based advocacy to protect water and air quality resources. Previously, she served as Environmental Counsel to Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, and as a Clinical Professor of Law at the Rutgers Environmental Law Clinic in Newark, New Jersey. She has a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.A. from Yale University.
