Sanjay Srinivasan is a professor in the department of Energy and Mineral Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University and holds the John and Willie Leone Family chair in Energy and Mineral Engineering. He currently serves as the director of the Energy Institute within the College of earth and mineral sciences. Sanjay’s primary research focus is in petroleum reservoir characterization and improved management of reservoir recovery processes. Some of the algorithms and methods that he has pioneered have been applied for early appraisal of ultra-deepwater plays in the Gulf of Mexico and for characterizing natural fracture networks in conventional as well as unconventional reservoirs. He has also pioneered techniques for model calibration (history matching) within stochastic modelling frameworks that can be applied to map sweet spots in unconventional reservoirs and to map the migration of a CO2 plume during geologic sequestration.
