Karen Lee is known as an expert in clean energy procurement who uses her background in engineering and optimization to inform decision-making and to maximize value delivered to local communities.

As Senior Manager of Power Resources and Virtual Power Plants at Ava Community Energy, Karen leads procurement of distributed energy resources and develops commercial structures and virtual power plant strategies for Ava’s Virtual Power Plant. In her previous role at Ava, Karen managed Ava’s Resource Adequacy portfolio and originated and negotiated long-term agreements to provide renewable energy to Ava's customers in Alameda and San Joaquin counties.
Karen has also worked at Cypress Creek Renewables, supporting the development and financing of over 2.0 GW utility and distributed solar and solar plus storage projects.
