Engr. Etta Agbor is the 2027 Chairman of the Society of Petroleum Engineers Nigeria Council, a Director of SPE Port Harcourt and a member of the SPE International Century Club. He is an SPE Certified Petroleum Engineer, certified by examination in Denver, Colorado. A petroleum engineer with more than twenty-three years in exploration and production, he is Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SeaQuest Upstream Services Limited, the indigenous oil and gas services company, which he joined in 2021 and has repositioned around first oil advisory and execution, drilling and evaluation, well cleanup and testing, production enhancement and optimisation, flow assurance and marine operations. He spent much of his career with The Shell Petroleum Development Company in wells, reservoir and facilities management, hydrocarbon resource management, field development and execution, and technical planning, latterly as Business Opportunity Manager for the Obigbo Node and Non-Operated Venture Assets. He championed a novel approach to converting wellhead pressure to bottom hole pressure for gas well testing, piloted in SPDC gas wells with significant cost savings and reduced HSSE exposure. He began his career with the PTDF Gas Research Group at the University of Port Harcourt and worked on the Nigerian Gas Master Plan Gas Characterisation Project before joining Orion Energy as Lead Reservoir Engineer. He was a visiting lecturer in wells, reservoir and facilities management at Shell’s Centre of Excellence, University of Benin, has authored several technical papers and has won technical and leadership awards in Nigeria and internationally. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in petroleum and gas engineering from the University of Port Harcourt.
