David Osemwegie is General Manager, Information Technology at Seplat Energy Plc, the Nigerian independent oil and gas company listed on the London Stock Exchange and the Nigerian Exchange. He leads the technology function across the company’s upstream and gas operations, at the point where operational requirements meet data, infrastructure and enterprise systems. He brings more than twenty-five years in technology across the international oil and gas industry. He joined Seplat from Shell, where he spent most of his career, most recently as Digital Innovation Services and Operations Manager and, before that, as Country Information Technology Manager for Shell Companies in Nigeria and as Global Information Technology Operations Manager. He also spent several years with Petroleum Development Oman as Senior Information Technology Project Manager and then as Information Technology Development Team Lead, and began his career at Shell as a telecommunications engineer before moving into technology project leadership.
