John Stauffer is the Associate Vice Chancellor for San Jacinto College Maritime Campus where he oversees both the credit and noncredit maritime programs. John’s responsibilities include educational leadership and administrative management of all training and educational programs at the maritime campus. He is charged with ensuring students are prepared to meet the U.S. Coast Guard’s changing requirements for credentials to work in the maritime industry, along with introducing youth to maritime career opportunities.
Prior to joining San Jacinto College, Mr. Stauffer served for 22 years as an Army Mariner concluding his career as the Chief of the Maritime Operations Branch in Virginia where he provided operational guidance for the training of Army maritime professionals. In total John brings over 25 years of maritime industry experience to the San Jacinto College Maritime Campus.
