J Bagley is a Transportation Security Inspector (TSI) for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in Houston, TX. He was appointed to the office in January 2011. In this role, Mr. Bagley is responsible for ensuring security compliance of persons and transportation systems/entities regulated under Title 49 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR). He also assists in the administration of critical, complex compliance and enforcement programs designed to ensure secure transportation and protect the nation’s public from terrorism, piracy, or other acts of sabotage to transportation systems, facilities, and networks.
Additionally, Mr. Bagley administers transportation security initiatives across the Nation’s Transportation System; coordinates preventative measures, safeguards, and rapid response initiatives ensuring the secure and free flow of transportation assets across the Nation and preventing instances of terrorism or other incidents. Further, he assists transportation system stakeholders in solving problems and addressing concerns relative to applicable security programs as well as relevant TSA Security Directives and regulatory requirements.
Finally, he is responsible for conducting, reviewing and analyzing assessments and reports then testing results with special attention to identifying unusual trends or actions appearing to have the potential to develop into a security problem.
Prior to working for TSA, Mr. Bagley was a retail asset protection professional. Prior to this, he served in the United States Air Force as a Security Forces Senior Noncommissioned Officer for 23 years until his retirement in September 2007.
Mr. Bagley has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Border Security Science from Angelo State University and is a Federal Emergency Management Administration-certified Master Exercise Practitioner.
