Mr. Welch is a Director in Black & Veatch’s Growth Accelerator. He leads development of new innovative solutions focused on decarbonization across the transportation sector. These include programs supporting fleet electrification, autonomous and connected vehicles, and alternative fuels. He has also implemented transformative renewable energy programs for utilities transitioning to low carbon solutions. His direct efforts have included extensive design and deployment of large scale microgrids, energy storage, and smart city solutions for critical infrastructure. Education credentials include Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and Psychology from Vanderbilt. His MBA studies were at the University of Tennessee. Robert is a Certified Energy Manager.
