Mark DuPont is currently the Executive Director for the National Maritime Law Enforcement Academy, and has provided expert consultation to the port security, military, law enforcement and public safety community all around the world in the areas of operational guidance, threat and vulnerability assessments, and mission preparedness through recognized national standards of training, exercises and evaluation. With over 35 years of dynamic organizational, operational, and entrepreneurial leadership as a Master Trainer, (credentialled through the American Society for Training and Development), instructional designer, facilitator, coach and consultant, he provides a unique blend of federal, state, local, private, and non-profit sector perspective and knowledge. Mark’s experience as a business leader, maritime law enforcement officer, intelligence officer, U.S. Coast Guard officer, port security specialist, and as a training director leading 150 instructors in deliveries across the nation, provide a diverse background and level of expertise.
Mark is also the “Chief Navigator” for Interact Performance Systems, and a Lead Instructor for Louisiana State University’s National Center for Biomedical Research and Training – Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education. He was previously the Director of Boat Operations and Training for the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators where he created and implemented a national standard of training and certification adopted by all 50 United States, the six US territories, FEMA, and the United States Coast Guard. His executive-level experience and recognized operational leadership in this position, and as the Chief Intelligence and Domestic Security Officer for the State of Florida (with the largest conservation law enforcement agency in the world), and as a Homeland Security and Intelligence Officer for the United States Coast Guard, all combine to provide him with a depth of subject matter expertise that has assisted over 1000 agencies and enhanced the capabilities of over 15,000 maritime professionals. His contributions and direct impact on the safety and security of the maritime transportation system, have been recognized with numerous national commendations, medals, citations, and awards.
