Julio R. Gonzalez is currently one of the Protective Security Advisors (PSA) assigned to South East Texas. As a PSA, he is the critical infrastructure and vulnerability assessment subject matter expert, facilitating physical and cyber assessments and providing guidance on established security practices for local critical infrastructures and systems. Julio is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico and is fully bi-lingual (Spanish/English). Prior to becoming a PSA, he served as a Port Security Specialist for the U. S. Coast Guard, Sector Houston-Galveston, responsible for all regional security and recovery plans, exercises, and port risk assessments for Freeport, Galveston, Texas City and Houston, Texas. Previously he severed as a Commission Officer in the U. S. Coast Guard as a Response Officer specialized in Law Enforcement, Incident/Emergency Management and, Search and Rescue. During his career, Julio has been involved in the planning and execution of a myriad of incident management operations; most recently he served as the Coast Guard, Sector Houston-Galveston Deputy Planning Section Chief during the response to hurricane Harvey. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Leadership from Mountain State University.
