Allie Isbell is the Manager of the Regional Planning team in the Transportation Department of the Houston-Galveston Area Council. In this role, Ms. Isbell’s responsibilities include management and oversight of sub-regional, thoroughfare, resilience, and freight planning activities.
Allie is a transportation planner with experience in both the public and private sectors of planning. She has prepared transportation plans and studies throughout the Houston region, including long-range, strategic, and facility planning for ports, airports, and highway distribution networks, in addition to mobility studies, signal timing coordination, special districts planning, and bicycle facility planning.
Working for private consultants, port authorities, and metropolitan planning organizations, Allie has managed teams and projects focusing on the preparation of planning, design, and implementation of comprehensive master plans and infrastructure improvement programs. She is well-versed in public engagement and consensus building processes, bringing together the knowledge and interests of stakeholders and local communities with the technical expertise of urban planners, transportation engineers, and technical specialists.
Allie holds a B.S. in Urban & Regional Sciences and a Master of Urban Planning from Texas A&M University. She is a member of the American Planning Association and is a certified planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners.
