For more than 90 years, the Greater Houston Port Bureau, a non-profit trade organization, has been helping member companies work together to promote cooperation and efficiency within the maritime community in the Houston region. The Greater Houston Port Bureau provides vessel information, port information, networking, and advocacy for the Houston maritime region. The Port Bureau is a member of the Maritime Information Systems of North America (MISNA), a coalition of marine exchanges maintaining vessel movement data for their respective regions. The port of Houston region is the busiest port in vessel and barge movements and the largest U.S. port by tonnage with over 200 docks and 270 facilities.
