Attorney at Law and Merchant Marine Captain; he currently provides as his private practice, independent legal advisory and representation within the national maritime industry, from his Mexico’s city office.
Before the above he was National Merchant Marine Deputy General Director for five years (2007-2012); between 2005 and 2007 he fulfilled the duty of Captain of the Port at Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, supervising the offshore industry activities, where he was awarded with the Merchant Marine Extraordinary Achievement Medal from the Presidential Office, at the official ceremony of 2007 for the National Maritime Day at Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.
From 1999 to 2005 he served as Head of the Navigation department and Captain of the Ports of Ensenada and Rosarito Baja California, coordinating maritime security efforts with the nearby USCG base at San Diego, CA.; also during this period of time he started his studies at a Estate Law School, obtaining the Attorney at Law degree on May, 2004.
At the private industry, he crewed several vessels form able seaman, to officer and captain of companies dedicated to domestic trade, towing, port operations, dredging, salvage and international trade between ports of México and Unites States of America, Brazil and Argentina.
Accessory activities.
Francisco Riveros wrote as thesis a work entitled “Federal Maritime Arbitration Commission” in 2005, and an essay on 2010 named “The Seafarers and the impostors” pointing out the importance of ethics at sea.
Currently he also teaches International Law at the recognized Mexico´s Autonomous Nacional University (UNAM) and occasionally he also teaches Port Administration and Transportation Logistic for the Navy Higher Studies Center (CESNAV) of the Mexican Navy Ministry.
