Josh McLean has worked in the energy efficiency, small-scale renewable, and climate change mitigation sectors for over 20 years. This includes working for non-profit organizations overseas and in three Canadian provinces, the Province of Nova Scotia, and for Canada’s first energy efficiency utility (Efficiency Nova Scotia). EfficiencyOne is the non-profit organization that administers Efficiency Nova Scotia programs. With over 13 years at EfficiencyOne, Josh has worked directly on a variety of energy efficiency programs and has developed a variety of new pilots and programs. His past work included developing the original version of what is now known as the HomeWarming program, the energy efficiency program for low-income homeowners, which began in 2007. More recently, he has worked on a variety of priorities such as integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into operations and writing a paper on energy poverty.
