One of Windfall's signature innovations is vHEAT™, our AI-powered Virtual Home Energy Assessment Tool. Using machine learning, vHEAT™ virtually assesses a home's energy performance and models how different combinations of energy-saving retrofits may affect energy use. This allows homeowners to explore retrofit opportunities, understand potential outcomes, and make more informed decisions about home upgrades.
vHEAT™ is deployed through the Region of Durham's Durham Greener Homes program and the Town of Halton Hills' Greener Homes Halton Hills program, both delivered by Windfall. The technology has also been adapted through an Indigenous-led pilot to build capacity among Indigenous Community Energy Champions and better serve remote communities.
