Christala Smith is the Director of the Center for Instructional Development and Technology at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and an adjunct professor. She holds a bachelor's degree in English education, a master's degree in curriculum and instruction, and is ABD in a doctoral program in distance learning. She currently serves as co-chair of the Professional Development Committee for the Council for Online Learning Excellence (COLE) and is a past chair of both COLE and the Online Consortium of Oklahoma (OCO). Additionally, she is a member of the Oklahoma Education Commission and the AI Impact on Higher Education Policy & Learning Committee. She has authored an open educational resource (OER) textbook for Composition II, which integrates AI interactions into assignments, and this will be the focus of her presentation at this conference.
