Kara Stanley is an accomplished instructional designer and educator with nineteen years of experience and a strong commitment to creating inclusive, accessible, and supportive learning experiences.
She is a Quality Matters Certified Peer Reviewer for Higher Education, a member of the QM Instructional Designer's Association, and a member of the National Society for Leadership and Success.
Kara's work as an instructional designer and STEM faculty has been recognized for its excellence. She received the 2023 Oklahoma Online Excellence Award for Accessibility, and she was awarded an Open Educational Resources Grant from OSRHE. Additionally, she has shared her expertise and research through webinars, and at conferences, including the 2022 OK Learning Innovations Summit and the 2024 OK OER Summit. Her presentation at the 2024 OK OER Summit focused on her use of OER to support trauma-informed instructional design with the session, "Designing a Trauma-Sensitive Biology Curriculum: An OER Remix Approach."
