JP Dowling is a Product Manager for Virtual Power Plant initiatives at NRG Energy. He is responsible for evaluating new DER technologies and their fit within NRG’s consumer services portfolio, as well as the growth of current VPP programs across NRG’s brands and US geographies. He has been NRG or its subsidiaries for six years and has launched new hardware and software efforts including the integration of a new DERMS system,

partnerships with a range of DER manufacturers, and the launch of the Reliant Battery Perks program. His team is focused on unifying VPP efforts across NRG’s different businesses to deliver the most value to customers and the grid. Outside of work, JP enjoys spending time camping with friends and family and playing slow-pitch softball. He is a Houston, TX native and proud University of Houston alumni where he and his wife are active supporters.
